ARGUS Security Platform -- turnkey metapackage What `apt install argus` resolves: the control-plane API, the admin UI, the WAF/reverse-proxy data plane, and the local PostgreSQL 17 / Valkey it depends on by default (ADR-0038 Sec.2.1). Requires argus-api/argus-ui at least this version -- not exactly this version (PKG-003): an exact `=` pin broke under this project's own real, already-used-twice point-release hotfix workflow, since a component hotfix does not also rebuild/republish this metapackage. `>=` keeps `apt-get check` clean when a component runs ahead of the metapackage's own last-published version, while still preventing an install from silently running an OLDER component than this metapackage expects. Point argus-api at a remote database instead by editing /etc/argus/argus.env's DATABASE_URL and removing postgresql-17 by hand if this appliance shouldn't run one locally. . Also ships argus-firstboot.service (ADR-0040 M10): runs once on first boot (or after `apt install argus` on an already-running system), waits for argus-api to become healthy, rotates the default admin/admin credentials, and prints the result to both the journal and the console -- an appliance's first interaction may be a crash cart, not a browser.
