ARGUS Security Platform -- turnkey metapackage What `apt install argus` resolves: the control-plane API, the admin UI, the WAF/reverse-proxy data plane, and the local PostgreSQL 17 / Valkey it depends on by default (ADR-0038 Sec.2.1). Pins the whole stack to one version in lockstep, reproducing what docker-compose's shared version tag across three images already gave the Docker deployment. Point argus-api at a remote database instead by editing /etc/argus/argus.env's DATABASE_URL and removing postgresql-17 by hand if this appliance shouldn't run one locally. . Also ships argus-firstboot.service (ADR-0040 M10): runs once on first boot (or after `apt install argus` on an already-running system), waits for argus-api to become healthy, rotates the default admin/admin credentials, and prints the result to both the journal and the console -- an appliance's first interaction may be a crash cart, not a browser.
